Discerning Truth From Lies

SERMON TAKEAWAYS

  • Believers today must be able to discern truth from lies.

  • Knowledge of truth comes from being a disciple of Christ; that is, being consistent in studying God’s word and obeying His commands.

  • If we say with our mouths that God is the ultimate authority in our lives, then our behavior should reflect that to be true.

  • The Church must be awakened so that the will and plan of God is revealed to the culture. If we are not speaking God’s truth in the atmosphere then it cannot influence any individual.

  • Beware: every day of your life, the enemy is strategizing to sway you from the truth.

  • Until we reach the place where God has called us to, we will not come into kingdom authority.

  • When we accept the counsel of God, we begin to walk in life, we begin to walk in freedom.

  • When you are going through a wilderness experience, learn to trust God and call upon Him.

  • Do not try to use your own power to bring about what God said He would do. We will not receive from God so long as we follow our own lusts and lean on our own understanding.

  • Logos is said to be the written Word of God, while rhema is said to be the spoken Word of God; however, what is written is not more powerful than what is spoken – and vice versa.

  • Everything thing that has been written is God’s recorded promise. We must know how to speak God’s Word back to Him. If you believe what God says, you must speak what God says.

Consider

Who is truly the source of your life? When you make God the source of your life, He will make necessary provisions, open doors, and give you all that you need.

Prayer
Thank you God for the promise of your word and for the assurance that we can come to You with our troubles. Lord, give us power to overcome our own will and walk in your word, which brings light, life, and liberty.

May we continue to allow your word to influence our lives and decision-making. In the name of Jesus, we thank you that you have given us power to overcome the enemy. We pray for deliverance in every area of our lives where the enemy is wreaking havoc. We need your might power and faith to know that You can shift any situation for better.

Intervene on our behalf, oh God. Permeate our lives with Your will and glory and help us to find true deliverance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
