Image, Light & Salt

As Kingdom citizens, we are called upon to be a representation of Christ: to walk in His image, to be a light in this world, and to be the salt of the earth.
Image
Tselem (image) means shape, resemblance, figure, or shadow. Therefore, whatever Christ does, we should do. We should reflect His characterisitics and behave like Him; this is so that unbelievers have a good example of who the Savior is.
It is God's intention to dwell in us to the point where we become His image in the earth. Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, tells us how to become like Him.
Whenever we feel contradicted about how we should reflect Christ, we need only look into the mirror that is the Word of God. We can measure our conduct by Jesus' character.
Light
Phos (light) refers to literal light, but is often used metaphorically or symbolically in scripture, showing Jesus as the light of the world.
Christ as light does for the moral world what the sun does for the physical world.
We must bring spiritual life, joy, and progress to the world we live in. We must be the light that causes others to see Jesus.
Our purpose on earth is to illuminate the world through our actions and behaviors.
The Beatitudes is a great reference that outlines how Christians should act and the character they should possess.
Salt
We stay salty by staying in the Word and at the feet of Jesus.
Conclusion
Image, light, and salt are the means through which the world will be preserved from decay; otherwise there is no hope for humanity.
When we are walking in Christ's image, letting His light shine through us, and staying salty through His Word, it strengthens the faith of those around us and brings restoration.
Prayer
Father, I place my will and emotions before you. Help me to become all you have purposed me to be in Christ. Where I have become unlike you, Lord, show me how to rekindle the fires of faith, hope, and righteousness. Help me to also be able to go back and restore those whom I've failed to help. Lord, cause me to grow in grace and favor. Thank you for the lives that will be turned around for your glory, in Jesus' name, Amen.
