Living A Godly Life

5/25/20251 min read

  • It is the grace of God that enables us to live godly lives.

  • We must reject behaviors and desires that are contrary to God's nature.

  • We are to be careful not to become complacent or high-minded concerning our salvation; instead, we must be sober and vigilant so as not to fall into the traps of the enemy.

  • Living soberly, righteously, and godly speaks to self-discipline and integrity; among other things.

  • Despite the cultural climate, believers are called to live in a way that honors God and to intentionally turn away from sin.

  • There are three aspects of living godly:

    1. Soberness - living wisely as a person and keeping mastery over your own self.

    2. Righteousness - being a person of honor; having due regard for your neighbors.

    3. Expectancy - living in anticipation of Jesus Christ and His glory.

Message Summary

Message Notes

Ungodliness is often characterized by a blatant disregard for moral principles and ethical standards that govern human behavior. It manifests through actions that prioritize self-interest over the well-being of others, often resulting in destructive behaviors and societal decay.

Those who embody ungodliness may engage in deceit, cruelty, and selfishness, leading to a breakdown of trust within communities. This lack of reverence for spiritual values can foster an environment where injustice thrives, and compassion is diminished. As a result, ungodliness not only affects individual character but also erodes the fabric of society, creating a cycle of negativity that can be difficult to break.

Ultimately, recognizing and addressing ungodliness is crucial for fostering a more harmonious and just world, where kindness and integrity are upheld as core values.

"Discipline in godliness affects the present and the future."
